Since reorganizing in January, ETPRS has conducted
three investigations. The first was in March and
April at a house in Rogersville, where a family is
plagued by poltergeist activity. The most compelling
evidence from that investigation are the many EVPs
investigators collected at the scene. While in many
cases of EVP phenomena, it’s hard to distinguish
what the voices say, several clear EVPs were
recorded at the Rogersville home, including an
unusually clear one that seems to feature the voice
of a child
speaking.
The second investigation the group conducted was at
Prospect Cemetery and Methodist Church in Prospect,
Tenn., near McMinnville. The Prospect Baptist Church
was founded in 1850, and the cemetery has graves of
Civil War soldiers as well as Amish. During an early
evening investigation, several orbs were
photographed by investigators in the cemetery.
The historic Bijou Theatre in Knoxville is the third
and most intense investigation performed by the
ETPRS. Members formed teams and, along with Bijou
employees, inspected the nearly 300-year-old
building in July. At various times in its history,
the Bijou has been a tavern, hotel, Civil War
hospital, house of “ill repute,” adult movie cinema
and performing arts theater. Its rich history has
now includes a history of the paranormal, with
reports of people being touched by unseen hands,
noises coming from unoccupied sections of the
building and shadowy figures roaming the halls.
ETPRS members armed with thermometers,
electro-magnet field meters, digital audio and video
recorders and cameras spent a stormy night inside
the theater. They plan to post their findings in the
coming weeks to the group’s
website.
